thirty-three weeks.

How Far Along? 33 Weeks
Total Weight Gain: 18 pounds
Maternity Clothes? No, but how I wish I did! I am down to rotating between about 5 different outfits.
Stretch Marks? No
Sleep: Not great, toss and turn a lot, but I love feeling the baby at night. He is really active at this time.
Best Moment of the Week: We had a doctor’s appointment and Brady got to find the heartbeat with the Doppler. It was so fun and he found a good strong heartbeat! The doctor did say that I am measuring a week behind, so hopefully he starts growing a little more into a chubby baby.
Miss Anything? Sleep, energy and a runny egg.
Movement: Constantly! I don’t think he stops anymore. He is always rolling, kicking and stretching ALL the time. He must be getting a little cramped in there.
Food Cravings: I had Italian ice with my sister and discovered I have a pregnancy craving for that! It was soooo good!
Anything making you queasy or sick? I have had a few mornings where I get to work and feel a little queasy like I did in the first trimester, strange, but it doesn’t stick around too long and then I feel better.
Gender: Little boy
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: Mainly being sore and tired all the time!
Belly Button In or Out? Out
Wedding Rings On or Off? On
Happy or Moody Most of The Time: Happy most of the time, but I have had a couple of mental breakdowns. Thankfully they are just when I am by myself so no one has to witness them!
Looking Forward To: Baby Shower this weekend! I am so grateful for my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law and all their hard work. I feel very blessed and loved and can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends.

50 days. (give or take)

Wow! We have 50 days until baby due day! I seriously cannot believe it! I seems so surreal to think that in 50 days I will no longer be working (for the first time since I was 14) and will be home taking care of my son. I am overwhelmed, stressed, excited, and beyond overjoyed that our family is going to grow. So with one of the biggest changes in my life about to occur I can’t help but countdown. I am truly savoring the last days with just Brady and I, I know there will be moments when I will miss them and think of the days when it was just the two of us, but I also know that once this baby is here we wouldn’t be able to imagine life without him. So, here are my 50 reasons why I am counting down:
50) 50 days of going to work and having my back ache all through the afternoon
49) 50 days of making my baby “to do” list and checking it twice
48) 50 days of dreading putting on my shoes, or painting my toenails, or picking up something on the floor because I will have to bend over and feel like I just got punched in the gut
47) 50 days of being able to eat a little extra because “the baby needs it”
46) 50 days of not wanting to go to bed because I know I will wake up in a couple hours with aching hips
45) 50 days before I can dress our little boy in his first outfit
44) 50 days of hearing strange comments from people about pregnancy
43) 50 days of lying in bed feeling baby roll, kick and stretch
42) 50 days before I can sit, lay, walk comfortably
41) 50 days of just coming home to Brady
40) 50 days of finding something to wear in the morning
39) 50 days before I get to put a teeny tiny diaper on his teeny tiny bottom
38) 50 days of stressing if everything is going to be alright
37) 50 days of nursery planning
36) 50 days of thinking of labor/delivery and the pain
35) 50 days talking pregnancy through countless texts with my sister, Molly
34) 50 days of exercising and losing my breath every 5 minutes
33) 50 days until I get to smother our baby with baby lotion
32) 50 days of worrying about my job ending
31) 50 days of spending wasted time in the shower
30) 50 days of imaging what my belly button used to look like
29) 50 days of hearing Brady talk to the belly
28) 50 days of feeling “huge”
27) 50 days of hearing peoples sweet congratulations
26) 50 days of feeling sharp jabs of little elbows and knees
25) 50 days before I can kiss our baby’s sweet face
24) 50 days of feeling hot all the time (not hot in a good way. No definitely not feeling this way.)
23) 50 days of endless TV watching, pinteresting, and browsing blogs
22) 50 days of dreading the “exacto” scale at the doctor’s office
21) 50 days before I give my heart to a sweet little boy from heaven
20) 50 days of going to the bathroom every hour

"babymoon"

The middle of last month Brady and I took a trip down to Salt Lake City for our “babymoon.” I cannot even begin to explain how much this was needed and I realized we had needed it even more when we were down there! I had some days I could take off work so Friday afternoon we drove down…and I might add that I only made him stop once for me to stretch! We were welcomed by perfect warm weather and had the best evening walking around downtown Salt Lake. We wanted to walk around LDS Business College, as Brady went to school there when we lived in Salt Lake. And walked right into Spring graduation! We walked around the school and may have helped ourselves to the giant food buffet they had going on :) After a couple hours of wandering around Gateway we headed to my Grandma’s house where we were staying. I was so ready to sit down! My feet were a swollen mess and throbbing. We relaxed for awhile before heading to “In and Out” for a shake. Yum! (This was the beginning of some delicious food and I never once even felt guilty, I had the best time!)
The next day we spend the day baby shopping at TJ Maxx, Ross, Ikea, Kid to Kid and countless other stores. We even ran into a golf demo day at Mulligan's Golf Course and Brady was able to hit range balls for a little bit. We had the best day together and I think we both enjoyed the baby shopping! It was so fun to find such great deals and to start to feel prepared for our little man.

Sunday we went downtown to the Spoken Word and explored Temple Square and the Visitor’s Center we spent the afternoon with my grandparents, eating pizza and watching The Masters. (I might have slipped in a nap at this point!) That evening we found a crib on Craigslist and went and picked it up. (It was the best deal! I am refinishing with my mother-in-law next weekend and I seriously cannot wait!!) We went over to Brady’s cousin’s house afterward and played with her kids and visited her. She and I became super close when we lived in Salt Lake and it was awesome to see her.
Monday and Tuesday are honestly a blur of eating out at our favorite places: Chipotle, Pei Wei, Noodles, In and Out and the best was Brady made a reservation at Ruth’s Chris for us to go and get their banana cream pie. If you have never had this you are truly missing out, it is amazing!! Tuesday night almost my whole family was at my Grandma’s and we had a really fun visit before my parents flew out to South Carolina to meet the new baby in the family! (My sister Molly had a baby boy at the end of March, I am excited to see our little guys together!)

We did do some really fun things too besides just shopping. We went golfing and to the zoo and these were my favorite memories! It was slightly bittersweet to think of this being the last vacation Brady and I would take together for a long time. We really have the best time together, I feel so lucky to have married someone who is my best friend and we can be silly and goofy together.  We are very blessed to be bringing this little boy into our family and I can’t wait to see the love we have for each other extended to him and know that it will make our family feel so complete. I can’t wait for the day when we can take him golfing for the first time or see his reaction at the zoo.
I had heard about doing a "babymoon" from other couples who said a getaway before the baby was essential and now my advice is have one! I can’t even describe how it brought us closer together and brings so much happiness just to get away and enjoy your spouse!

Also I have to add a huge thank you to my awesome grandparents for letting us stay with them. We were able to visit together every night and get caught up. We love being able to see them and can't wait to visit again with our baby!

thirty-two weeks.

How Far Along? 32 Weeks, 8 months!
Total Weight Gain: 17+ pounds
Maternity Clothes? No
Stretch Marks? No
Sleep: Had my up and down days with sleep this week. Some nights were not so bad and other days I was forced to get up from the annoying hip pain.
Best Moment of the Week: Realizing how very very close we are! We had our first prenatal class and it was exciting and also scary and extremely nerve racking as I started to dwell on what is ahead!
Miss Anything? Feeling “healthy” I have been blessed with a healthy pregnancy, but feeling groggy and losing energy is setting in and I have times when I just feel like…blah. What makes up for these moments is I usually find myself sitting quietly feeling the baby move all over J
Movement: So much. He loves to stretch and it is funny to watch my stomach go into so many different shapes when he does this. He also kicks pretty hard sometimes it about takes my breath away…I just love it.
Food Cravings: Dark chocolate, toast with butter, cucumbers in ranch
Anything making you queasy or sick? No! I feel great.
Gender: Little guy
Labor Signs: Not yet….
Symptoms: Occasional heartburn, out of breath, short on energy, and always hot
Belly Button In or Out? Out
Wedding Rings On or Off? On
Happy or Moody Most of The Time: Happy! It is an exciting time!

Looking Forward To: This next weekend I don’t have to work and Brady and I are planning a day in Idaho Falls. I love this time with him!

Total Weight Gain: 17 Pounds
Maternity Clothes? No
Stretch Marks? No
Sleep: I don’t want to jinx myself, but it has been so much better!
Best Moment of the Week: Making baby’s mobile. I will have to post pictures soon
Miss Anything? Getting through the day without a sore back. An office job is painful when you’re pregnant!
Movement: All the time. He has got the occasional super strong kick but mostly rolls and flips. He had a day where he did about 3-4 full somersaults and they about took my breath away.
Food Cravings: Veggie Sandwiches and our favorite Italian ice cream place opens this week and that sounds amazing!
Anything making you queasy or sick?   No, feeling good
Gender: Still a boy!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Still congested all the time, painful ribs and back
Belly Button In or Out? Out
Wedding Rings On or Off? On
Happy or Moody Most of The Time: Happy! And getting really nervous/excited!
Looking Forward To: Nesting mode has kicked in and I am anxious to get started on some deep cleaning! Haha who knew that could be so exciting?
