H.A.L.L.O.W.E.E.N.

We have had the Halloween festivities in full force at our house. Pumpkin carving, caramel apples, and Frightmares! Last Saturday out grocery shopping I convinced Brady that we needed one of the biggest pumpkins in the pile for the two of us, and the carving commenced on Monday for Family Home Evening. Brady got home from work late that night so we had lost a little energy for the carving but our week was pretty packed and it really was one of our only chances to get it done so we kept it simple with our jack-o-lantern face but I think he still turned out fairly cute. We roasted our pumpkin seeds with brown sugar, pumpkin spice and butter and did half with Parmesan cheese and oregano...they were delicious! So here he is sitting among our little Halloween set-up. haha

Our Attempt at Caramel Apples!

Yummy!

Our little Halloween display!

This last weekend we celebrated at Frightmares at Lagoon. And it was a great/horrible experience! haha Anyone who knows me knows I DO NOT do scary well. There were multiple times in high school and college when I would get invited to watch scary movies and I would find myself making up lame excuses to get out of them. When really I knew if I went I would be crying myself to sleep that night. In June Brady and I went to Lagoon and had a blast so I just figured with Frightmares it would just be decorated for Halloween. We had fun riding the rides and screaming our heads off on the roller coasters but then through all of this I found myself standing in line with Brady to go into a haunted house. I was having so much fun that I didn't think twice until we were standing right in the entrance and some creepy lady was standing next to me and I screamed and slapped Brady. (I did this a lot through the house, every time I would scream I would hit him on the arm or back frantically, I don't know why...some sort of panic release I guess, sorry babe!)  This place brought me close to tears and I was shaking and nearly hyperventilating at the end.  I really don't think it would have been as bad if we hadn't gone through the one that the theme was scenes from the scariest movies. I can't even imagine how ridiculous I looked as I was panicking ready to leap into Brady's arms. We ended up having a really fun time the rest of the night but I don't think Brady realized the seriousness of taking me into a haunted house. I don't think he would want to do it again and I will happily sit outside for him next time :)
Before the Space Scrambler!

This is before the haunted house...worst experience ever.

yay! No more haunted house!

Dang I married one sexy guy ;)

Hello October!

Brady and I have definately felt that we have had a wonderful first half of the month! What a fun couple of weeks we have been blessed with. Not only is Salt Lake turning into a beautiful AUTUMN city but we have been able to enjoy it with FAMILY. The first weekend of the month we were lucky enough to have Jaysan and Amanda stay with us and go to CONFERENCE. We were excited to hear conference and to be able to see our prophet and spend it with one of our favorite couples.
On October 8th we celebrated our 4 month ANNIVERSARY. It is crazy to think that our first summer married has come to an end and we are entering the holiday season! Our anniversary fell on the perfect day....Columbus Day! haha Don't ask me why us bankers get this day off, but we were not complaining, it was great! To start off our day we headed downtown bright and early. Brady still had school so while he was in class I spent time in the library on Pinterest, an ok way to spend my time. I love finding holiday ideas for our apartment. We went window shopping at City Creek Center, we always love going, there is tons to see and it is amazing. We enjoyed a tasty lunch at the Lion House (we LOVE those roles) and spent the afternoon lounging around at home and making delicious homemade peach ice cream with our awesome friends, Merit and Kelli. (Merit was actually Brady's mission companion and we are neighbors! We always have the best time with them!) It was definately one of the BEST DAYS of our first 4 months. I sure am lucky :)
And we didn't stop there...
We were so excited for weekend #2 spent with Zach and Garyn (One of Brady's best friends and his girlfriend) who stayed with us Friday night as they passed through SLC. And Ainsley and Dustin also came down that same weekend...Hooray! Saturday we spent hours and hours shopping for their baby on the way! I can't even begin to explain how excited I am to welcome our little nephew to the family. And I am definatly in love with baby shopping it was a blast! Ainsley found so many cute things and it will be so great to plan a baby shower for her, she and Dustin will be awesome parents...and Brady and I are hoping to be the favorite aunt and uncle ;)
We all had fun making dinner, boys watching football, delicious egg nog shakes and In and Out, we can't wait to host the next FUN weekend and enjoy the rest of OCTOBER.

Eating lunch at the Lion House on our 4 month anniversary.
I am trying to be good at taking my camera on our adventures around Salt Lake but as you can probably tell I need a better camera!

HAPPY OCTOBER!

6.9.12

To go along with the the wedding pictures I had to make a quick post of our reception. We held the reception the next day at Sweetheart Manor in Burley. My mom and sisters worked so hard to make it beautiful and the treats and everything were so perfect. It was so fun to see so many of our friends and family and have so many people travel just for us! We felt very blessed. After the reception came a trip to Park City, UT for the honeymoon (more pics to come from that!) and it was the perfect ending to our wedding.
I will admit after everything was over Brady and I both struggled getting up and going to work, I am actually still having honeymoon withdrawls, if only I had married someone who didn't spoil me to death it might be easier!

3 months later.

We did it. HURRAY!! We were married 3 months ago in the Twin Falls, Idaho temple. He is stuck with me for eternity. Lucky me! I have been wanting to start a blog. I have so many cute friends with blogs, I wanted to join in. We are however a little late on starting the blog in our newlywed adventures. We enjoyed one of the best summers of our lives and were having to much fun to want to sit down and write about it. But it is definatly fall time and our funloving summer is coming to an end and we are reluctantly stepping out of it. Brady started school last week and with it came a new job and and a new schedule.
During the summer Brady and I both worked as tellers for banks. (He at Washington Federal and me at University of Utah Credit Union) It was a perfect setup, Brady and I both left at 8:30 in the morning and he got home at 5 and me 6, so we had some wonderful evenings exploring the exciting Salt Lake City and making weekend trips to Burley. Now were trying to adjust to the change and I will admit I have had a harder time with it then I thought. I am trying to keep myself plenty busy but it still feels empty in our little apartment.
In trying to keep busy my wonderful mother gave me a wedding book to put together and so I have been going through wedding pictures and cards and it is so fun to think about that special day. If I could relive one day in my life I would definatly choose 6.8.12.

And that is why I thought I would share "just a few."
Our sweet neice Adelyn waiting patiently. She wore her shades all day, haha so cute! Just like her dad!

Happiest Day Ever.

I do have to add one little story before I end the very first blog...While Brady and I were engaged I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do about the wedding dress. I had thought about wearing my sister  Molly's dress but my mom persisted that I wanted to have my own to show my kids one day. So I decided that I was going to go to Burley and try on some used dresses. Before I got to Burley however my mom suggested that since I was in the "mormon marriage capital" with plenty of dresses and shops I should look around and decide what I really liked. I found a little shop near my work and called to set up an appointment. The lady asked me my budget and then kind of remarked that they were way out of mine but I went ahead and decided to go with full intentions that I was not buying anything. Just looking. I even convinced Brady to come with me because then he could tell me what he liked, after all he was the only one I was worried about impressing that day :) So we went together and then of course I put it on. The Dress. I sadly left the shop knowing that dress was not mine. The next day what did that wonderful fiance do? Went and bought that dress! I got off work and drove over to his brother's house, where he was living and he said there was a suprise in his room I went in there and started to cry. I had no idea! And he made me so very happy! I felt very LUCKY! He even convinved the lady that owned the shop to give him a discount on the dress and throw in the veils (that right...2!) for free!
I think I will keep him forever.
